Samsung

If you are thinking of buying a Samsung product, especially a refrigerator or an air conditioner - Please do not.
The after sales service is beyond abysmal. Wish I can be more eloquent there, but words fail me.

Realize the importance of service backup only now.

yes, i too felt that. After Sales service for our Samsung SilverNano AC was too poor. They respond as though they are doing a favour for us !

I dont know about A/C AND Refregirator service of Samsung. But TV/dvd service is excellent. for me, they take just a day to attend my complaint.

Cant agree more. I have been using the AC for the last 3 years. The blades broke in a week, and I was "advised" not to use the remote from a distance! And I always thought it was meant to be used from remote!

But, you have to own one of another brand to be able to compare. However, there is definitely scope of improvement. As far as my association with Samsung went, they have been okay. Rather, I guess I had the time to wait.

for me initial 9 months the after sale service of A?c was ok with samsung, afterwards no response.

LG is sonmewhat better (of course it does not require service )

But the point to note that is mostly the fault is with the dealer, dealers' poor HR policies. Most of the staff leave the dealers business in 3 months or 4months.

Saying all that, Samsung should not appoint those business houses as its dealers.

I have a Samsung refrigerator, while buying the sales rep said as frost free also in the manual but it was not. I thought of buying a washing machine now will keep this in mind.

You can buy a Samsung phone and it will useful if it dosent work.

You know how?

We can use it as a Soapcase!

I think it is a personal experience and cannot be generalized. We have a Samsung AC and a Samsung Washing Machine at home for three years now. We have not found any fault with their service. They infact were very helpful even when we shifted house.

Chinmayi, it would be great if you spoke about the problems people face in terms of address and identify proofs in various places including Government departments.

My second sons, 16 years old, has a passport since he was 7 years old. When we went for his passport renewal the regional passport office asked us to produce three different proofs for him. Isn't it ironic that we produce passport as one of the identity proof for many uses and passport office asks for multiple proofs at the time of "renewal" (not fresh issue)?

I guess it applies to any product you buy in India. Not just Samsung

I don't want to comment on which is poor. But Kelvinator was the best in fridge. However I am not sure if it is the same after it became Whirlpool. Since 2000, I have not faced any issues with the fridge. Hence did not have after sales service experience

Hey chinmayee
u are abs rite..

and btw , the best way to select an AC is kinda simpler now..
the govt of India has issued a Star Rating for efficiency in AC for all brands ..
all one needs to do is to go in for the Highly rated Brands
interestingly Hitachi scores a full 5 and ur Samsung scores a dismal 2 ...

You just cant blame it on entire Samsung Sales forse.
Yeah there is a bit of lag (1%)on everyones part.
Then which one do you find better?
It is difficult to recommend so.

Samsung and more recently Sony Ericsson products appear in your blog from a dissatisfaction angle.

Are the product vendors making any attempts to contact you to ask for more details?

Blogs twitters etc. of people with quite a number of followers and participants are effective medium to translate and air voice of the customer on the street and I thought product vendors would be conscious of the impact this will have on their brand
