FYI

Mom has been working and planning this for quite sometime and we shall shortly be commencing a school for Hindustani Classical Music (Classical Vocal, Sarangi, Sitar and Tabla) and a Dance school which shall focus on teaching Odissi and Kathak. Looking at the number of mails that we have received in the past year or so, especially by aspirants who are serious about learning, she did not see why this needed to be postponed any longer.

Leave a comment with your Email ID for more info.

To start a school for fine arts is an excellent initiative. I wish to see it growing larger across geographies. I am sure that more and more artists would evolve.

May He be with you.

Way to go.

Im in the US, and my roomie, BaraniKrishnan follows ur blog. I read ur previous blog and did not comment, which is when my dad inceidentally mentioned to me the price of dal being jacked up from 40 to 95 in Bangalore- which is where Im from.

Anyway, Im digressing, my dad comes from a place in Palaghat district called Shornur, which is where the famous Kalamandalam is.(If u get a chance u must go there. Its breathtaking. You have little gazebos (i dont know what its called in Hindi/Tamil/Indian), its liek the old gurukul's with a roof and open walls (like a gazebo :D) teaching all forms of instruments (tabala, mrudangam, kathakali, mohiniattam, panchavadyam).. well, as u can see its more kerala forms of performing arts.. anyway, its great what you are doing.

When I get to be in a position to do it, I'm gonna start a school for kalari payatu(its the kerala martial arts form) which is pretty much dying. So, the reason i was droppin a line (many lines) was to wish u luck.

cheers !
Shanker.

Howabout starting something in Trichy too..? Places like Trichy are cursed, is it.? How long is it going to be the metros with all the benefits albeit with the chaos too..? Kids f Trichy never get a class teaching.they are mediocre performers although they will die for doing better even in their wild dreams due to lack of renowned trainers
