Don't think this will help you immediately. But you might be able to find rare, out-of-print books at Select Bookshop in Bangalore.

Gita Press, Gorakhpur
Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore
Giri Trading, Mylapore.

I guess one of the three places will have all books old and rare! :-)

Depends on what you are looking at. Try thanjavur sarasawathi mahal . Some of the ancient tamil texts are available in Project Madurai website

The best place to get old and rare books at bargain price is Alwar Book Shop on the platform near Luz corner opposite to Kamadhenu Theater.

As always, love you ms.chinmayi not as a singer but as a person, as a human who has genuine curiosity, interest, and appreciation for everything good/worthwhile/meaningful!

To your question: I remember this one bookstore in Secunderabad, "Kadambi Book Shop", they have many old and rare editions of many books, the thatha there will dust them out the moment you as him. I was last there in the year 2009; an ailing store then, yet the thatha there could be of great help, he should be able to direct you to other place were you may find the kind if books!
Picked this info on google: KADAMBI BOOK SELLERS, WEST MAREDPALLY, SECUNDERABAD PHONE : 27705349 (Manish Gour's blog dated 2006)
And call him only when you have atleast an hour to spare, he might want to tell you his story; Mr.Kadambi (sorry that I do not remember his actual name) can talk...... a lot.... and I mean it!

And a request: I am in a patchy phase in life could you please pray for me. I could use some help! Thank you.

Hi,

I came across an article about an online digital library of India's rare manuscripts - here is the link:
http://www.buzzom.com/2011/11/indias-first-digital-library-of-rare-ancient-manuscripts-is-here/
(maybe you know about this already, if so sorry for posting)

Just need to find a link to the actual e-library.

If you do come across a bookstore please post the details, I would be interested in it too. My grandfather used to love reading and has a decent collection, part of his collection includes a 16th century rice paper dictionary from India.

Kind Regards
Kesava
