Happened to notice

Quite a number of spelling mistakes on the scrolls at the bottom of the screen in a couple of prominent channels in recent times.
They can't even check the spelling of doesn't before making it live now?
Headline scroll or whatever they call it, not sure of the right jargon. It read something on the lines of "X DOSEN'T KNOW"
Newspapers also. They don't run spell check or what? And yesterday morning callers on my show said, to speak and know better English one must read the newspapers and watch news channels.
Hmm.

Hi.. Chinmayi akka...

This is somewhat digestable akka..

But during my 12th result this year i was watching tv to know the mark of state first rank holder..

The flash was going indicating the mark of first rank holder as 1083..

But it has to be 1183..

I was first shocked on seeing dat...

A good thing is that the scroll went for only 5-10min and not the whole day...

She is adding these kind of posts to spread awarness atleast among us which could make some changes in the society..

Can u tell me why do u feel it wrong ?????

@Ramji
I am not particular about this posting. If you look at her previous ones, u can understand it. anywayz im not pin pointing her, but its kind of negative sensation. Everyone knows things are not rite but its improving. Over the course of time things will change. Now we have some courtesy to turn off the cellphone in a cinema hall. Down the line we can see the changes... A country of over 100 billion population with around 50% below poverty line cant afford all the facilities like a developed nation (refer previous posting "What I would like to see in my country")...
Cheers

@jay,

There is nothing wrong in telling our wishes what changes we would like to see in our country.It is not only her wish but a wish of every indian.So i dont see any complaint in that.But pointing spelling mistakes seems to be a petty complaint compared to other things.She may be a perfectionist and she wants it everywhere.

Thats the difference between an American and an Indian..

An American respects his mother tongue like anything ..

But we dont ..

Thats why it seems odd for you..

@ramji1992
English as a language accepts the change and even the American Channels accepts the colloquial languages, they take things in positive way. Btw, America is a land of immigrants and the mother is different for everyone. (Italian, German, Spanish, English). But everyone speaks either english or spanish.
I think we are overreacting for everything...Keep it cool...

When people do journalism for money...who cares all these? huh !!

So pathetic when the mumbai blast was covered...rotten news and no intention to say the right thing...!the race was to get hooked to the channels and no professionalism atal!!
It happens in India !!!!

Guess you r looking at it from "White elephant ' Eyes ..

Typo seldom happens in News channels as well... Spell check doesnt run when someone types flash news or On live feeds.. It boils down to the News feeding Team ..who are always under pressure to flash it first ....to get more TRP..

IN ONE WAY, SPELLING MISTAKES ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE..

BUT THIS YEAR JANUARY,I SAW A FAMOUS ENGLISH NEWS..IN THAT IT IS DISPLAYED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER.

"FED-EX DIED"
I WAS SHOCKED &CONTINUED TO KEEP ON WATCHING...THEN THEY ARE DISPLAYING ..

"FED-EX'S PLAYING METHOD DIED"
(at that time Australian open took place.in that federer lost to nadal in the crucial final match)

WHAT TO DO????
I DONT KNOW WHETHER THIS IS A MANUAL ERROR OR THEY ARE MAKING THEIR NEWS INTRESTING......
