Latest Release - Uyirodu Uyiril from Kavalar Kudiyiruppu

A song for Mr James Vasanthan. Have been wishing for a long time to work under him. When the time did come I walked up to his studio to see it is one of the most beautiful ones that I have seen and worked in. His studio overlooks the sea. Standing in the voice booth I could see the waves hitting the beach. It was beautiful.

This movie is a Bilingual and incidentally, when it was time to record, this became the first Kannada song that I recorded in Bangalore. Not sure what the title is in Kannada yet. (There is no beach in Bangalore. I know. Most of the world that cares about beaches and Bangalore knows. It was recorded in a different studio. Different from James sir's own studio in Chennai. Thought it was a simple thing to say but a lot of issues to the extent that it seems like I am saying "there is a beach in Bangalore". So let me spell it out again, I recorded the song, the Kannada version, not facing the waves but walls.Walls that are acoustically treated. In a location that I don't remember now, in Bangalore)

James sir has perhaps been seeing me from the very beginning. He has seen my transition from a girl who hardly conversed with anyone to being a host of reality show on Tamil TV. Then, I hosted Paadum Office which is his brain child. And that was working under him for the first time. The next time, I went there as a judge for the finals.

The first ever time I sang a song for him was in a Christian Devotional Album, at least 6 years ago, I forget the name of the album but the song is called Sindhanei Sei. It was so much like a Ghazal that I went berserk. I remember a lot of people telling me much later that they loved that song. It remains one of my favorite songs.

James sir is a task master. A very kind one at that. He also taught me some basics of Pro Tools in this session. There are some things in life that makes you feel grateful, gratified and blessed all at the same time. And whenever singing or a recording session is that reason, there is no other experience that comes even close. As an album, I loved it. A personal favorite is Gangai Nadhi. Whenever you can give it a listen.

Thanks James sir. For a beautiful song. A beautiful experience.

Where did the sea come in Bangalore. ????

Learning Pro Tools does not make someone a composer. I learnt from him only for the sake of learning.,

Anonymous : who keeps harping at the sea at Bangalore line. I say "Incidentally this also became the first song in Kannada. And I do not know what the title in Kannada is yet". Hence it becomes clear by comprehension, at least I thought that this is a Bilingual movie.

Hi Chinmayi,
Actually one doubt.
The studio overlooks the sea. Standing in the voice booth I could see the waves hitting the beach.
Incidentally, this also became the first Kannada song that I recorded in Bangalore.

If my understanding is right, you mean to explain that the recording took place in Chennai Studio overlooking the sea and it's your first song in kannada.
But, Bangalore does not have any beach as we all know, so
"that I recorded in Bangalore." - What do you mean exactly???

Chinmayee, Just check it once again. Your statement states that you have recorded the song in bangalore and before that you have told you have recorded the song before the front of ocean.

"The studio overlooks the sea. Standing in the voice booth I could see the waves hitting the beach. It was beautiful. Incidentally, this also became the first Kannada song that I recorded in Bangalore."

Anonymous: This is the first song I recorded in Bangalore in a different studio, of course. This is a bilingual movie. Meaning Tamil and Kannada. That was self explanatory since the post refers to a Tamil song. And when it came to Kannada I had to record it in Bangalore. Other Kannada songs that I have sung, if you are reading this space for a while, are recorded in Chennai, for me, so far.

Its a new sentence. I really don't get why there is a comprehension problem. And don't we all that there is no beach in Bangalore? Do I have to SPELL it out that it was recorded in a different studio? And I have stated also that I do not know the titles.

Mendicant: If you have been following my blog, you would know that this is not my first song in Kannada. My first song in Kannada which was recorded in Chennai, was years ago. I clearly state that this became, this meaning the bilingual movie, the Kannada title of which I do not know, was recorded in Bangalore. I thought it was self explanatory.

Chinmayi, I am just trying to put my point of view for your statement regarding the beach. No one is trying to show you in bad light. There is no need for that to be sarcastic. You have take the good and bad at the same sprit. God Bless.

Chinmayi Sripada /Chinmayee said...

Ah, don't judge me that fast. And to me, I believe that no one can 'show' me in a bad light actually. And again, I didn't label your comment as bad either. And none of the statements were really regarding a beach. It was about a recording experience :)
Peace out :)

But we can judge you as u are too sensitive to comments !!!. lol.

James Vasanthan is an amazing music director. It's great to see that he is excellent in his melodies. He has come up a long way and the more I listen to him I have a feeling that he will really do well.

By the way, I also like your latest mallu song !

"I heared the nice song in your voice ". I came to know through the TV Programme , that the same song is a favourite one for Mr.James in that Movie.

chinn,
Usually i dont listen to kannada songs much, after 1992 the kannda music is not good the 70's and 80' music was good in kannada.
Composer like Illayaraja, Rajan Nagendra, G.K.Venketesh, Vijay Basker and Hamasalekha was doing good.
Some music like Mumgara malai , A and Amruthavarshini was good.
Now Illayaraja has given 3 films in Kannada after a long time.
Please update your kannada tracks .
Thank you
