Each of us has a gift I feel. Someone told me that music is the language of the Gods and to be able to speak it is a blessing in itself. And also that same someone told me that I am here to amuse the Gods. Though there are times when I look skywards, because eventhough the Supreme Being is all pervading and everywhere, thoonilum-thurumbilum types and all that, it just is instinctive to look skywards for some reason whenever I feel like conversing with this person who thinks I am for his amusement and tell him (and please, "How do you know its a 'HIM'" is cliched), that maybe while its good he is being amused, I actually do not find all the goings on funny. And maybe he can work on my amusement once in a while.

At a time when there is mostly silence all around me but for this amazing composition that I choose to play that wafts, entwines through every cell in the air around me, seeping it with a flavour, a fragrance that when I look at this curtain rippling near me by the window, I wonder if it is the breeze or the notes. Ah well, that's just me being romantic.

The past couple of days I have been a part of an amazingly beautiful creative process. Attempted singing a song that is quite drenched in Carnatic classical expression. And learnt so much through it all. We meet so many people, are drained through some meetings, exhilarated by some, tired of some, some affect us and some do not even have the effect like maybe a baby's breath may have on a lock of hair. The past couple of days, has left me grateful for being born as me. Thankful for the people I meet. Especially for the songs I get to sing. And this amazing veteran composer and a gentleman that I have met and have got to know.

God does exist around us. He is someone with a piquant sense of humour. He exists in the people that we meet. And there are times when he comes through. And for the agnostics and atheists, look at it as some sort of a magic. Inexplicable, enigmatic and lovely.

At times that I sing, its almost like something reaches out to me and a sense of peace and serenity settles in me.  I felt like that the past couple of days. When the time is right, I shall tell you which song I am talking about.

At this time, I feel like diving into deep blue sky.

For you, I wish that you go through this enough number of times, revel in it, get drenched in it to the  very nucleus of every cell of your being.  Enough number of times. Like you closing your eyes and smiling a smile that magnifies a million times in your mind's eye. To feel the love, peace and beauty of this thing called life. For you, I wish that you find your gift that is a part of you. Become one with it and let it find expression in you. Love yourself, love and give freely.
Tathaastu and God bless.

Your articles reveal to me how amazing a human being you are. A little over a year ago, I cam very, very close to death, but the Grace of the Supreme Mystery, this gift of life has been given back to me. I can relate to your every word regarding the beauty of this wondrous mystery call life. It is for this that we call Him "Mayan".

This is the first time ive read your blog and i must say that i am impressed at ur writing abilities. I feel that it is a beautiful skill to be able to convey such an appreciation for life (and singing) the way you have. I love the conveyance of emotion in your writing through various references and analogies such as "a baby's breath may have on a lock of hair", God, a cell, deep blue sky. I could ramble on and on...but in short i would just like to say, keep up the good work :)

I remember Mr.Yuvan saying this..
He Tweeted like this
"My father always use to say., Those who compose music are similar to the almighty.... i love this life as a composer...!"

Happy that both of my favourites have same thoughts!

The language of Gods indeed.

I believe, that a person becomes something he/she trusts in! In short "Thou art that"..... or "Thath Thvam Asi"!

Anyway all the while since 2002 I never cared to know the singer who sung the songs I like.....turns out that most of the songs I like are yours.....! Keep up the good work....

Ever loving,
Koushik

Wow.

Now that was a very poignant post...I always wanted to experience "diving in to the deep blue sky"....I always imagined sitting near a slow waterfall, legs in the water, rocks nearby, enjoying the sounds of nature and the water...Its nice that your mind can wander a million places, that our body cannot, so I allow my mind to do ust that! Any reason why your post has no caption? Sometimes you can never get a nice caption to justify a post right???

I always thought your heart was closer to your mouth and hence the extra melody. Now your words show they are equidistant to your hand too.

In complete harmony with self, revealing and reveling in the connect and expressing what directly touches others heart is yet another gift you have.

Best wishes

"How do you know its a 'HIM'"

George Carlin said - and i kind of believe after knowing my mom .. it has to be HIM coz no woman can make a mess around if everything was god's will and creation..

THat Said, Your paragraph on the existence of God is something that i have pondered on. SOmething i have always thought if what the official texts often referred god metaphorically or Dramatize and give a face and a name for normal people to connect with? More So, I ve always believed it is ...- the Design of Nature, to me - and that, we mess with the design and it back fires.

I usually dont mention this, but just that you kind of closely brushed on this idea - i just wanted to mention it !

Eitherways, very thoughtful !

PS: 'Veteran Composer and a Gentleman' -we'd like to add a face to that ! let us know if you can !

Music is a divine thing which cant be expressed in words , it should engage with our soul thats when the real thing called music wil be produced, majority of the singers sings really well but very few of them produce the music in a divine way, n u r one among them mam, hats off, rock on..........

Hello,
Though i haven't heard much of your singing, I've heard a lot about you..Nice to know that you are a real HUMAN BEING and not the one who acts like one.. As you rightly said each one of us have been bestowed upon with at least one talent..But you are blessed with many...Thank God for that..
You may have listened to different styles of music, but, i wonder if you've ever heard Pure Bird Music composed with natural bird sounds..
