Who is Indai Haza?

I am still accessing the internet only once a day, laptop is still not back. I must say I am liking this.
To answer this question which has come in the form of several mails/sms asking if I have met her and where she is from. I got the answer a couple of days back.
Indai Haza is the name given to my alter-ego. The "eemineee" voice.
Chinmayi urf Indai Haza.

Wow. This must be the first time when an alter ego has been given credits. Congrats :)

I think it is a great idea to put name of your alter ego.

BTW, as expected music of sugar cube is very good. Chinmayi, your voice in "I miss you Da", is extremely good.

Hi Chinmayi,

Finally the mystery behind Indai Haza has come to light. Thanks for sharing this interesting info. Btw was just wondering who's idea was it to name ur alter-ego? Was it ARR or yourself? And could you actually tell us more about the name itself: wat it means and wats the language of origin?

Ohh..! sounds kinda wierd! this is the first i'm knowing about something caleed alter-ego! haven't even just heard of earlier!

BTW , you mentioned that 'you got the answer for it 'a couple of days' back'.. then does it mean like, ''before that'' you didn't know that it was your alter-ego?

Hi Chinmayee or Chinmayi.. hahaha. I have been listening to u wsince u have been singing in malayalam for M Jayachanran Sir. Right now i am listening to Rahman sirs 'Kabhi Kabhi Aiti'. So u know where I am , in heaven of course. I love the way u sing. U seem to put ur heart and soul to the song. I love ur husky voice. In malayalam I love the song u sang in Akele. Mayya was fab too. Ur truly gifte lady. So keep singing beautifully. I love music. But I am not as blessed as ur to be able to sing.

How's owning a Macintosh for choice?
In India, barring a few corporates, I hear only you using it. There must be some specific reason. Can you tell me in two lines why Mac?

Interesting to see your alter-ego being credited too.... and sorry to post in the wrong post - you did an awesome job in I miss you too! Reminds one of so many things :) ...

Arun, I've heard from lot of ppl that the Mac beats the PC hands down, when it comes to Multimedia - esp Graphics.

One person who I know is a Mac-maniac even from the mid-90's is A.R.Rahman :))

'I Miss you da' is really nice.

Indai Haza could be the next Himesh Reshammiyaa. Seriously! :)

Can Chinmayi or anyone else please answer this - what's being said in the vocal loop at the beginning and at various points in the song? Is it just a sound or an actual word?

Thanks,
Sunil

Thanks Pradeepan for your time and space.
The reason I had to post such a query was the thought that there were no great service options available in case the Mac went down.
However, that was a useful piece of info.

Chinmayi,

I didn't appreciate the voice change that much in this song. Please stick to one unique voice. Currently in the industry it is already very difficult to stand out in the crowd, and changing the voice (that too to this extent like "I love u da") is going to make things worse for singers.

It is fine as a 'shock value' attempt... Please stick to one voice, for your fans. I would love to recognize your voice by listening to the song rather than looking up the CD cover or worse still by googling!

In a way I am glad that you changed the name in the credits for this song.

Hey Chinmayeee

Just listened to 'i miss u da' in aahaafm online..

Its awesome.. Honestly, it was not the most addictive number.. but the audio engineering and ur rendition in the back ground gave a new life!!

i havent seen a video of it .. but this is how i picture.. You in a glittering dress standing a Virtual setup singing the normal version.. but your alter ego is just ur head with a smoke for a body and revolves around you like a fish in a tank..

the really cool thing was movement of ur psychedelic alterego voice in the stereo .. it just moved around my head, while the main voice stayed on with the melody...

Kudos to whole team.. end result: u guys rocked..

hi Chinmayi
i felt only "emine" was sung by you
because that voice was so familiar.
so i thought Indai haza is some new comer

Did you record the song and "emine" hummings separately

That's very intriguing, to have one's alter-ego credited...very Pessoaesque if I may say so. Congrats on some excellent work on the Sakkarakatti album (check out my blog for a review).

Hey for all you guys who vouch for the MAC...but its what you want the computer to do bascically and except for the UI and the support for multimedia/ graphics..the IBM based PC can do lots lots more ...

The more you are a serious developer the more u will appreciate what the IBM based PC can do.

Cheers

Just listened to your interview in SunTV; interesting trick by ARR. Somehow I knew it is you singing 'Emine' the first time itself. I am a huge fan of your voice, and also your talents in other fields (RJ, SS, business, and my fav subject recently - psych). Will try to catch u in Aahaafm soon. Oh i forgot to tell.. your voice is getting better with time. Both the songs in Sakkarakatti rock really big.

Well i guess i am late on to this one, but this is one of the more sensual songs i have heard in a while. Especially the "anju napathanju" paragraph. I dont know how the video can have gotten so wrong from how the song is. The song could have been easily made as a song of longing with a pining touch..but well one cant expect too much from the directors of today!!(maybe this would have been a good song to play around with by Mani Rathnam)
