Jhootha Hi Sahi

Have sung Maiyya Yashoda (The Jamuna Mix and The Thames mix) in this album with Javed Ali and this recording session was one that I would never forget. I met Mr Tyrewala for the second time and it was a wonderful experience to be a part of this recording. Javed Ali recorded this song while his mother was getting a surgery done in Delhi so it was quite hectic for him.
Rahman sir told me to sing and sound the way I do in this song. Like a really young girl, not that I am a hag now, but still, to bring in the chirpiness of a younger girl.
Meeting Mr Tyrewala was like meeting a really wonderful professor and listening to a wonderful address. Not sure if he would take it as a compliment but in the conversation that I had with him, I had a great time listening to him on philosophy and his interpretation of some of the myths and legends of India to the best way to eat waffles. He is most definitely a food aficionados and remember him mentioning about a really wonderful Chinese restaurant in Shimla, if I am not mistaken. Like Vir Sanghvi, he also said that the Chinese food that we eat in India is not Chinese.

Needless to say some of the best conversations that I have had are with the creative people, the wonderful people that are part of the process of making the films that we love to watch. I have not met too many people in the literary and art world yet but hopefully that will lead me to some wonderful learning as well.
Like this time I met Mr Iqbal Patni, the poet and heard him speak, albeit briefly on cars, which one to buy and which one not to.
To me, singing for and working under Rahman sir is like being in a Himalayan ashram with a Guru. There is tranquility and somehow even if I have had a really terrible day, everything just vanishes, as far as I am concerned, as soon as I meet him. His hours of rigorous spiritual practice and communion with the Almighty has this effect on other people I would daresay. Someday, I hope to have the same sort of a positive effect on the people that I meet.
Enjoy the album and you can listen to it on http://www.saregama.com and when you do want to download, please make it legal.

Thanks and God Bless.

Thanks for sharing thses instances with us, common folks. After the beutiful Kilimanjaro song, I get to hear you and Javed Ali in Jhoota hi Sahi. Once agin, its a fun filled song and I enjoyed it every bit. Waiting for the audio release!!!

And your statement about ARR Sir could'nt have been more perfect. I was just watching his appearanc on Saregamapa and one after another there were his hits being rendered by participants(awesome singing and songs) and there he was sitting ever so calm and composed!!!If I could borrow yoru style of saying "Whot a man!!!!

BTW, you rock in the Sangeetha Mahayuddham!!! The best performer by a mile is Madhu Sir...What a voice and divine singing.....reminds me of the evergreen Yesudass Sir!!!. Has MAdhu Balakrishnan Sir sung for ARR??

Totally loved the way you sounded in this song. I am really amazed at the different modulations you have brought about in different ARR songs. Oru Daiva thantha was a certain kind of feel. Tere Bina (Guru) has totally different, Northie folk singer style feel and this one again is totally different! Wonderful! I hope you continue to do your best, as always!

Chinmayee..Im a big time ARR fan.I'm following your blog on and off....

Atleast for ARR songs, I always wanted to hear it legal. I'm not in India so its really tough to get a DVD, by just walking out. If Raavan and Endhiran made it on Itunes..Why not Komaram Puli and Jhootha hi Sahi? Is that a decision by Rahman sir or distributors? This Saregama website is pathetic..It doesn't have adequate infrastrcuture to support the downloads..If possible, please take this forward to the concerned people and make it available in Itunes. Good music MUST get higher credits.

BTW, you are incredibly Versatile mam..Kudos!You simply rock my friend..(Pls dont lose your individuality)..Way to go!! Mayya Yashodha is sooper!!

Chin, I must admit that even after listening Maiyya Yashoda 100 times, I am still unsure if that's your Voice.
I totally agree with you on the point that some of the best conversations that even I have had are with the creative people. I still remember some of those conversations with Kamal Sir, Shekhar Kapur, Anupam Kher, Prahlad Kakkar, Iqbal Patni Sahab, Nandita Das, Nagesh Kukunoor to name a few. All those interactions were so insightful, wonderful learning and few of them were eye opening ones.

I have been a regular reader of your blog and a die hard fan of Mr.Rahman. Recently I got the opportunity to listen to one of his concerts live and I really felt the divinity in his music. Wish even I was as lucky as you are to talk to him and learn from him. I really like your works and on the personal front I relate to you at times. Keep the work going. All the best!!!

I suppose to go through your blogspot and find about jhootha hai sahi. Then only i come to know about this film music composed by Great ARR. I downloaded the songs but not yet listened. Should be nice only. No doubt about that. Normally, we use to listen tamil songs. If I get any good review about hindi film songs, then i will download and listen. But, any songs composed by ARR, i will download and listen.

You have sung in film "LAMHA". That song "MAJDA". That song was very nice. One of my friends in jakarta told about that song and appreciated the female voice. As i am a southindian, they asked me. They told me "one southindian female singer sung that song and they dont remember the name" I immediately replied it should be CHINMAYI. And i informed about your show which yourself and Mr. Naresh performed in jakarta.

I have watched through youtube ndtv's "ENDHIRAN DEBATE" in which Mr. Sudhangan, Mr. Gnani and yourself discussed about Rajini. On behalf of crores of Rajini fans like me, you have answered them very well. We, Rajini fans thank you a lot for answering those two arivu jeevigal. Hats off to you. By watching your face expressions and feeling in that show, i come to know "You should be a Rajini fan" only.
