is my question..
At any given point in time, several different sets of people have one thing to say. You have gained weight and paradoxically, You have lost weight as well.
So here I go about wondering whether I should hit the gym and generally tone up and put some strength into my legs in the whole bargain, and then people say you have lost weight. I think I have gained, so do some nice people. Thats actually good news to me. That I have added some pounds. And bad news is of course, that I have lost some. The past couple of weeks I have heard so much about that, I have gained, I have lost, at the same time. Seriously, how come??
The point is I have to explain how I go about this weighty issue. Explaining why I have been losing pounds is far tougher than explaining how I gained.. Its usually stuff like, have you been working too hard? Are you doing ok? Did you fall sick? After a point, I am at a loss on how to go about the explanations and counter explanations. Also the problem is when people think there is a hidden agenda that you are not telling them, and all I can do is give a mental sigh, smile, (yeah it comes out in a bubble to the side of my head and goes *sigh*) and of course not say anything. And now this post is looking pointless to me.. But then I am hitting the orange button anyway.. you win some, you lose some!

i can't understand why should people bother to see if they are thin or fat??
it seems to be no use..some nuts go about telling how less they eat..i can't live without eating and these people can..wow!!they are great!!
sry,abt that...who really cares if we are thin or fat?
happens all the time -- specially for those(like me), who meet people after long time, when travel home for vacation,etc...
i find myself explaining about weather, food habits, etc.. 10000 times, yes very frustrating. but political correctness makes us to show our angry to our loved once and be nice to strangers. (when its should other way around..!! anyways))..
and yes this blog was pointless but (its my comments day of the week and) just commented to make sure that means something.. again 'political correctness' ;~D)

you hitting the gym??? I think u gained weight and thats not too much and actually better than before!!!
jus dont think about it... the more u care about gaining/losing weight the less u wud be able to control it!!! Jus eat sleep work!!! When it goes overboard (which i really doubt) hit the gym!!!
PS - Missed ur show in sydney. Was visiting people in melbourne. It wud gr8 if the shows are known in advance!!!! I promise to bring the attorney(hope u still remember the quirky female) along...
ya I totally agree with yuva.I just came from Chennai and all of sudden my family members looked at me and started to ask weird questions. And they even made conclusions that the food served back in Malaysia is not healthy...haaa...But deep in their hearth they love and cares me...so to you chinmaye just keep going and don't bother..ok va

when ever I visit my own town all my family members and friends looked at me and start saying that you have become thin which his formal way of talk when the meet the people after long time so chinmaye just keep going what you feels and don't bother others words..
gain some, lose some... but what exactly "is your happiness"
Why u shud ever bother about such issues is what I feel... people who dont see you often react about what they see in you after they meet you after a long duration..(actually doesn't mean anything!)and people who see u often do not feel the change..(again ... this too do not mean anything..)!! If u get affected by these comments... even for a moment, dont take it seriously! If at all you take it seriously, I feel u are more dependent on what others say.. you dont depend on your own judgement!.. Buy a weighing machine and check ur weight... That will give you the reality, simple! Does not mean you must go to a gym baby, because somebody, well really somebody commented on your weight!!!!
Do not get influenced by comments...

My dad give me the set of DVD's on SSJ and living on the fast lane, I just skimmed thru the whole set one long night. You were simply outstanding, the kids, the judges and kids' familes were awesome.
I wanted to address the apparant paradox you noticed regarding the comments on your weight. While there is always a degree of misrepresentation, for whatever reason, there is also another factor which is perhaps as relevant if not more. That is 'perception.' Depending on our mood, how we carry ourselves and the motives and perceptions of the observer we always appear different from what we really are.
Because of your interests in public peformance as well as psychology I figured you may find this interesting. What I find most interesting is the part of this perception that is within our control.
Best to you Chinmayi
