Ford Fusion - To buy or not to buy?

Well so we have been taking a vareity of cars for test drives.

The Ford Fiesta - like it
Hyundai Accent - but since its in phase out we'll have to check out the new one if at all we want to buy that one
Honda City - drove it but didnt like it for whatever reason
Ford Ikon - like it but also in phase out
And finally the Ford Fusion. Like this one quite a bit. And they are offering a massive discount for this month. About a lakh and a half on the Cost Price. Which made me wonder why they would do something like that.
The dealer claims the car gives 10 kmpl. The others say it can give about 6 at the max.

So now I want a verdict on this one.. whether or not to go in for this car.
Lemme know. Thanks in Advance.

Hi chinmayi...
If you are looking for a mid-size car, you can definitely check on Cheverolet Aveo. Thats a wonderful car.Have fun...

Again, your job in 'Super Singer' is fabulous...I really feel for the fact that i couldnt participate just for seeing and hearing you in person..

I would say any ford products are not upto the standards they were few years back. I would recommend somethign like a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. These two are very durable, affordable and seems to be the perfect choice.

Ford Fusion - good choice...but havent heard any big positives in it. Also it has the looks of an SUV, if that is what you are looking for, go for it. Yeah - mileage is pretty low. My close has it and he hasn't proudly spoken about his car so far. Any second thoughts on Skoda? Am taking delivery of one tomorrow.
Looks like we visited all models and almost everything is in the phaseout. Btw, did you test drive Baleno. the latest model is really good. but still my heart says Skoda.

Hi,

my first comment in your blog!!!..First a note of appreciation for your voice...it is fabulous..!!!!...

On to the matter...Ford Fiesta I have heard is really good...one of my friends has been contemplating on the same lines as you...and he has test driven, Aveo and other stuff...but he says Fiesta is too good....so you can give a second look at it...generally, when you give a second serious look at any thing, you will find few more things which you will not find in the first place...

All the best!!!..let us know which you finally decide...and why!!!

Bye,
Rajesh

Sorry reporter. I took it for a test drive and its shock absorbing capacities are no different than the maruti 800. If I am paying 4 big grands extra, I expect that in the least. All the ABS and Air Bag funda is ok though. But I still dont think its worth

How about Toyota?? Thought Toyota has made its enrty too in INDIA. Try Toyota Corolla/Camry. Good milage.

Does Honda sell Accords too in India?? U can go for these.

Ford Fusion - cool car but it was over priced when they launched it. The problem with the car is - it does not fall under SUV or a mid-size car. That's what we call a "Rendum kettan" :-D

My personal choice would be Honda City which has proven on Indian raods that it could perform well with a much much better mileage. But it's definitely costlier than Ford Fiesta. So if you are looking at buying a petrol car, this should be the one as you would be saving OIL and also money :-)

If you are looking for Diesel cars then Ford Fiesta will be good.
