Sounds very nice - good alaap there :-)

Hey chinmayi,
really beautiful song...your voice sounds amazing and your hindi diction is pretty good. The sounds more like a slow Bong rock...melodious with nice guitar work and backgorund vocals..
Great work and good luck.

Hi Chinmayi,

Now I have became a frequent visitor of your blog. The song is really good... am able to understand only these lines
"Hey sanam tere hum ho gaya...
Jab nazare mili... mujhe aisa laga...
Thu jaan hai mera.... main teri ho gayi..."

Congratzz

BTW the quality is also too gud.. I never expected such a good quality in a audio blog... Keep posting more such audio blogs.

Hi Chinmayi,

I really appreciate your patience to reply Thanks, Thanks... to all the comments posted. I respect you a lot and it grows day by day... like all Rahman songs... :-) Feeling happy to be a fan of a good heart.

Nice song. Been listening to it for a while now. I like the part where the first few lines are sung in chorous.

Music knows no language barriers... Now I know why ! Congrats on ur first international assignment.

Kaps said...

This song has come out very well....hummable right from the beginning. hope to hear more audio posts from u.

Starting off on a rather coarse note (I almost thought how Chinmayi's voice became husky!), the song turns melodic with "hey sanam". But the transition is subtle in this interesting bilingual, cross-country effort at musical fusion. This appears to fall into that genre of music where the more you listen the more you appreciate it. A good effort, well done!

Beautiful song! Though its been up for a couple of days, today's when I got around to actually getting out my headphones and listening to it after work! Awesome....

Would love to read about your recording experiences and anecdotes, not to mention your songs :)

And thanx for that comment!

I didnt read the linked post and listened to the song directly. I thought you were playing a silly prank on us by playing an unknown language! :-)

Nice song. Your hindi pronounciation is also very good for a South Indian. Your hindi seems quite flawless in the "Holi Re" song too from Mangal Pandey.

Hi Chinmayi,
I am new here. Very good song and nice voice. Wish i could understand the lyrics to enjoy the song more. Do you have a tamil version of this? IS this an album?

Nicely sung, Chinmayi!

Just managed to get into your blog! All interesting stuff... Know wat.. I am also from HSSS (1997 passout) and I do remember you singing songs during prayers and functions at school! All along you were talented! One of the good things about school was we did have a lot of exposure to music... thanks to Uma Ma'am.

Some of the Songs I really liked of yours were Kannathil Muthamittal, Enna idhu Enna idhu, oru nanban irundhaal, Santhipoma and i think a song from an ajith-meena movie which goes like "orey manam", was a beautifully sung song.
But, My favourite has always been "En uyir Thozhiyae".. Esplly your intro with awesome first interlude with Rahman stunning piano and not to forget his magical chords! It had a great charanam too!
All the best...
Keep blogging! And have fun!

Btw... Holi re is a cool song! You have sung very well, even though your portions were short.

Al Maddath Maula and the chorus part of Rasiya song defines the greatness of the man!

Melodious song. Nice fusion of Sinhalese and hindi lyrics .. I was in Colombo recently and was surprised by how much sinhalese resembles the south indian languages ...

Chinmayi, wonderfully sung... Your voice has matured a lot throughout the years and sounds as beautiful as ever.
This song was great as well, seemed to do full justice to your voice. Well done. Can you perhaps write a blog entry about how you came into the professional singing realm? I am sure that would interest many here and it would definitely interest me... Hope you can do it... Thx chinmayi keep up the good work.

The male singer 's name is Bathiya. And actually sinhalese has a lot of Oriya in it.. anyone knowing oriya will maybe see the similarities.. even their script has tremendous similarity to Bengali, Oriya scripts..

anantha said...

Awesome....have listened to this atleast 10 times today.... Have forwarded this link to a couple of my Sinhala friends as well!

Just curious, Is the aalap by you too? Konjam subtle difference therinjidhu in the voice, or mebbe i am just imagining!

Hi Chinmayi,

First time here. Cool song. I liked your aalaap in the song very much.

Although I couldn't understand the lyrics... music doesn't need any language to appreciate it, right?

Please post more songs. Nice to meet you here.
