MY MOM IS BACK!!!!
Yaaaaaayyyyy.... I think its gonna be a good weekend. There is a blogger meet at the Boat Club today, organised by Kiruba Shankar and I am looking forward to it.

I bought this Paulo Coelho's new book, Zahir. And I am also started the first few pages of Digital Fortress.

I saw Anniyan again last night at a private screening with mom, and Adi and her mom. Because Ad and aunty had not seen it. Hmm wish sometimes that there really was an Anniyan to cleanse all evil. Especially the history of Singapore, Taiwan.... I wonder what we are doing...

*sigh*

Ah... would have lovvved to be there... Damn these tests and exams - spoiling our weekend.. my plans to come to chennai this weekend are totally spoiled.

Totally agree with u on the Anniyan part... all of us at some time or other would have definitely thought "wish there was someone who can stop all this"!!!

All Indian should watch Anniyan, it has a good message to everyone. The film has some President A.P.J Abdul Kalam dream, when everyone obeys the government’s rules our India will really come a developed country in 2020. Every body should read the Book, Abdul Kalam India 2020.

Anniyan is one film I wanted to grasp every inch. How many times I wanted to become an Anniyan in my past twenty years. How could Mr.Shankar envisage social atrocities and how the Podujanam who are always the mute observers like R.K.Lakshman's cartoon character but suffering inwardly. Even 'Boys' had a very strong message. I used to wonder what went wrong. Its the magnificience of his film making and intensity in his cinematographic depiction which stunned the audience when they had to see the wrong things going on around so blatently on a huge screen. Thousand kudos to this film maker for this one film. I only wish that all of us Indians learn a lesson and get disciplined and organised as true citizens.

IMHO

We can't do anything at present...

Can buy 'Onions' and cry for the current situations..which are bad..!

People's attitude has to change. If each one of us change..the country will change.

We need a strong leader, a leader who is able to think...and He needs strong support from the People.!

Until this happens....

ONIONS! are they expensive these days.?

Singapore and Taiwan are all small countries!! India is a country with more than a billion people..People have to change first..Then a proper leader should arise from them!! Maybe Vijaykanth could be the right person :))

To some extent, it is true that managing small countries is easier. But the phenomenal pace at which China is growing presents a different picture.
And you have any number of countries smaller than Singapore and Taiwan that are down in the dumps. I think it is the political system that dictates the economic growth of a country.
India is now on the right track of reforms and globalization. But catching up with the rest of the developed world will not be swift.

Hi chinmayi,
I do read ur blog sometimes, but not a regular.
But this comment here is for the ppl who thinks we need an "Anniyan".
See the message of the movie and the plain truth is... Once we become responsible citizens, there is no need for an Anniyan or a Leader.
As a democracy we have a perfect platform to take our country forward, and there are lots and lots of ppl who r doing it directly or indirectly.
But, we may not responsible or disciplined enough. But i cant see any reason y we cant be.
