Pictures of the razed Paramakudi Temple

Though late, as the saying goes better late than never.
According to the villagers, this stone image is from the buried Ranganatha Temple in our village Thiruvarangam, Paramakudi. Portions of it were damaged after it was unearthed, by the children while they were playing with it.

me: what?! how ridiculous. don't they have any archeo dept out there?! these are relics, our history. it should have been protected!! by good lord, so much for such dept!!

if you have more of such snaps do post it... at least, you know there is somebody here (in me) who is interested in such stuffs.

Very sad indeed, to read about children being allowed to play with it.. no wonder there is so much in our history that has gone unprotected.. anyway thanks for the pics, it looks like the face of the diety Narasimhar..Where is it now?
