Vinayaka Chaturthi was good. I went for a shoot for a Television Channel this morning, the details of which I shall reveal shortly. This was a singer's special. And the studio where we recorded has excellent acoustics and I daresay that in all my interviews so far, I am the happiest in this one with my singing. :D

Our Puja thus happened late.. around afternoon and Ganesha put up with us until then, the darling that he is!

I went to the Mehandi ceremony of my Mom's student, Amrita who is more like a family member now. After an initial half hour of my giving a concert, I got into having fun, applying mehandi, eating and generally mingling around! And I drove back with mehandi on my hands, though mom lined the steering wheel with newspaper! My mehandi was almost dry and it now has a good imprint on my hands.. the trick for getting a great colour on your hands is not to let water touch your hands for at least 12 hours after you scrape the mehandi off.

The wedding is tomorrow and it will be a good mix of Bengali, Iyengar and Nair styles.. must be good fun! Some of her Super IQ friends from the UK have come down and they seem very excited about the whole thing... it was good talking to them too..

And I have not been going to salsa class at all, for sheer want of time.. I got some tapes from the UK though, learning from them should be a cakewalk now since I have the basics good now.

Yesterday evening there was another show, with Gangaiamaran sir's orchestra, with Manicka Vinayagam sir, Mr. Malaysia Vasudevan, Malathi Lakshman and Venkat Prabhu. Good fun.

Should be putting up an audio blog and some pictures in a couple of days... hopefully!!

which channel did u shoot for chinmayi ? These days TV channels have become intelligent.
One of the major tamil TV channels decided to call comedian X to talk on their program. However X was too costly and they cudnt afford him. However they badly wanted to fill the slot.

guess what .....they did finally manage to fill the spot. how ?
They called T.R .....

'Hey' Ram! :-))

Come on, man! Salsa IS beautiful. She sings wonderfully already.

One person; Salsa; Carnatic! Isn't that mind-blowing?

Just genuine appreciation - no flattery. So stop insinuating that.

Chinmayi, is ur inspiration J-Lo? Why don't you act in a movie? That would be a positive career move!

ACT??? I cant do that to save my life!!! not thinking of acting.. at least not in movies. !!

Ram: This blog is not my attention-monging section on the WWW. I like the attention. But this is not to garner all attention, let me clarify. And this is my way of letting whoever is interested, know what happens in my life.. my concerts, my everyday existence sometimes, my rants, raves, views.. and its also my outlet... maybe people like it this way.. and whats the deal in the whole "I am soo famous that I should remain anonymous" thing??
I get a lot of people who tell me their views and ideas on my singing.. why, from this blog I have drawn inspiration to do sooo much... and thats all because whoever has come in here has had the patience to read through my blogs, take me for who I am... and has left their own indelible mark in my life... and this is I think is essential in my growth as a person.. I certainly dont want to be anonymous. .....I like it this way :D
So wotsay Ram? And whatsay people?

Chinmayee, I hope my earlier request to you about blogging your experiences as a singer working with Rahman(or any other music director) and giving a walk-thru of how one song was done from scratch(I mentioned ennuyir thozhiyeas an example last time), is still under consideration.
Or if it isnt feasible, pl let know here and I'll stop bothering you.

I look forward to the audio blog and the pictures.!

Did Malaysia Vasudevan sing 'Poonkaatru Thirumbuma'. He had a wonderful voice..but somehow went into acting and was lost.!

A couple of months back, Sruthi Lakshman troupe performed here in the S.Francisco Bay area. I was amazed with Malathi's talent!
