Trouble with Apple's New Battery as well

I got a battery replacement from Apple, as a part of its drive, recently.

And now, when I disconnect the power, when I know that the battery is fully charged, the system also switches off. I immediately hyperventilated, didnt know what to do. And then I plug in the power, the system works fine. I pull the plug, system switches off again. And then I am wondering whats going on, the battery icon says "no batteries available" How the dickens does it say something like that?

So I bring in the old battery which thankfully I haven't shipped back yet, and it works just fine. With or without the power.

Now what do I do? And who will possibly have an answer to this one??

Did you try reaching their helpline (if there is anything such ) I dont know if there are any apple service centers in chennai - but these folks service ipod :-
M/s. SUNTRONIX - 044 26630184 / 42652099 / 09840047999

Maybe you should try to reach them and ask if they can help in troubleshooting your battery problem! BTW, I liked your Nanban irundhaal song in enakku 20 unakku 18 than most of your other songs!

Chin,

This problem is due to battery overheating. Apple will give you free replacement batteries and they work fine. Good luck!

I am a crazy fan of your debut song, kannathil muthamittal. Great job!!

Hope the battery is seated properly.

Calibration is required for new battery (& periodically as well). Below link talks about battery calibration:

You can probably try resetting the PMU first. For many, resetting the PMU works. If it does not solve the problem, calibrate the battery and then retry resetting the PMU. The below link says how to reset the PMU.

Hope it helps. If not, ask for another battery replacement :)

All the best!

Hi there,

I'm afraid I don't have the answer to your battery question - but I came here from the BlogCamp page, and was happy to see your blog. Nice going!

oops! I shud have read your post more carefull.y hopefully, soundar's post answers your question. If it does not work, may be you should ask them again. It may be risky to use the old battery knowing that it might have problems (TN cannot afford injury to a singer like you!!). Good luck again.
